The Village

It takes
a village.

The Village is being designed for families who are lawfully present in the United States and in need of support, giving them the stability, resources and opportunity to establish new lives with dignity and greater independence.

It is being developed as a residential community that combines housing with access to healthcare, education, rehabilitation, mental health services, employment support and other essential resources. Stable housing is important, but long-term recovery also depends on access to services, social connection, education, economic opportunity and a safe environment in which families can establish new routines.

Private family residences will be combined with shared facilities and community programs, allowing families to maintain their privacy while having access to a broader network of support.

Our Philosophy

From the first night of safety to the day a family walks out on their own.

The Common Kitchen

A table where everyone belongs.

A communal kitchen and dining hall will serve as one of the central gathering spaces within the Village. Residents will be able to prepare meals, eat together, and take part in cooking, nutrition and community programs, and share food and cultural traditions from their home countries.

The kitchen supports both practical needs and social connection, reducing the isolation that can accompany displacement and resettlement.

The Art Studio

Where creativity becomes recovery and income.

The Village will include a dedicated art studio where residents can participate in creative programs as part of their recovery and community life. Working with qualified professionals where appropriate, art-based activities may support mental health, self-expression and social connection.

The studio is also part of Art for Life, giving residents the opportunity to develop, exhibit and sell their work. Where applicable, participating artists may receive income from sales, an additional pathway toward skills development and economic independence.

An Integrated Model

Designed around
everyday life.

Rather than requiring families to navigate multiple disconnected systems, housing, healthcare, rehabilitation, mental health support, education, employment services and community programs will be coordinated where possible through Children of Heaven and qualified partner organizations.

The approach is informed by research on trauma-informed care, rehabilitation, supportive housing, social connection and community-based services. Clinical treatment and specialized services will be provided by appropriately qualified professionals and organizations.

A Private Place for Families

A Private Place
to Begin Again.

For the safety and privacy of the children and families we serve, the location of our Welcome Village is private.

The Village may house children and families escaping war, persecution, violence and other dangerous circumstances. It is treated as a protected facility, not a public attraction. We do not publish its address, precise geographic information, maps, imagery of the actual property, or any details that could identify or compromise the location of the community or its residents.

Qualified humanitarian partners, donors and organizations can contact us directly regarding the Village.

Supporting Lawful Pathways to the United States

Honest about what we do, and what we don't.

Children of Heaven does not issue visas, determine immigration eligibility or make decisions regarding admission to the United States. Families seeking to leave conflict or persecution may be connected with qualified immigration attorneys, accredited representatives, humanitarian organizations and appropriate government programs to determine whether a lawful pathway may be available.

Depending on individual circumstances, pathways may include refugee resettlement, family-based immigration, asylum or other protection-based processes, humanitarian parole or other lawful immigration programs. Eligibility is determined according to applicable law, and government authorities make the final decisions.

Where appropriate and funding permits, we help address practical barriers: legal services, documentation, translation, medical requirements and transportation. Once a family is lawfully present in the United States and eligible to receive services, Children of Heaven may provide or coordinate support through the Welcome Village and its network of community partners.
